Calcium chloride and anhydrous magnesium sulfate absorb water in the air and are utilized as moisture absorbents.
In particular, anhydrous magnesium sulfate can absorb almost the same amount of water as its weight. It is also utilized as a humidity regulator because it releases the water it has absorbed depending on conditions in the surrounding environment.
Anhydrous Magnesium Sulfate
Anhydrous magnesium sulfate is not only used as a desiccant by itself, but when blended with PE resin and processed into sheets and films, it is expected to add hygroscopicity to containers and packaging materials and keep the humidity inside the packaging material low.
Therefore, it is used for a packaging material for pharmaceuticals and food products with high hygroscopicity.
